Learn Letters with Captain Cat 3.6.1

The lite version of Learn ABC Letters with Captain Cat provides access to two out of the seven letter sets.

Learn ABC Letters with Captain Cat invites preschool-aged children to embark on an engaging journey through the alphabet, where they can learn the names and shapes of the letters, practice letter recognition, and easily identify letters within words and in alphabetical order. Each activity has a distinct learning objective and offers a unique game.

The game introduces the alphabet to children one set of letters at a time. The alphabet is divided into seven sets: ABC, DEF, GHIJ, KLMN, OPQR, STUV, WXYZ. As children complete the activities for a specific letter set, they construct a corresponding boat. This provides motivation for both learning and playing.

However, it is important to note that this app does not teach the phonetic sounds corresponding to each letter. Understanding how the letters are pronounced is a separate educational goal addressed in Intellijoy's standalone app, Kids ABC Phonics. Including phonics in this app would detract from its focus and enjoyment as a game.

This educational game encompasses seven activities:

• Naming Letters: A delightful way for children to learn the names and appearances of each ABC alphabet letter at their own pace.
• Forming Letters: Children assemble alphabet letters using colorful puzzle pieces to reinforce their recognition of familiar letters.
• Recognizing Letters: Fishing for alphabet fish as they swim by reinforces letter recognition and pronunciation.
• Identifying Letters in Context: This simple game teaches children to recognize alphabet letters within words, helping them understand that words are composed of letters.
• Matching Upper Case to Lower Case Letters: This activity reinforces the concept that each letter has two variations - one uppercase and one lowercase. Children will enjoy matching the letters to build a raft.
• Distinguishing between Upper Case and Lower Case Letters: Children listen and search for either the uppercase or lowercase letter and toss it to the dolphin for some fun!
• Ordering the ABC's: Children explore the depths of the sea to find letter-coins and use them to create a segment of four letters in a row within the alphabet.
